What is the most important thing you’ve learned about speaking English?

By taking the interpretation class here, I’ve learned how important it is not just to “translate” messages, but rather to “communicate” them meaningfully for the listener. As my English has improved,I've become better at negotiating and expressing exactly what I want to say.
